About the Musical
“Rosie” The Musical is an exciting new historical drama based on an inspirational true story with Music and Lyrics by Chris Broom and Book by Sam Babenia.
“Rosie” tells the remarkable story of Miss Rosie Boote who overcame considerable adversity to fulfil her dream of becoming a star of the West End Theatre in Victorian London.
Rosie was raised in a convent in Ireland before travelling to London to pursue her dream. Rosie’s engagement to a titled Cavalry Officer caused absolute outrage and scandal amongst the establishment, however, her resilience in overcoming prejudice and never giving up on her dreams provides an uplifting and inspirational story which still resonates today.
Studio Cast Album
The eagerly awaited “Rosie” Original Studio Cast Recording features a stunning selection of musical highlights from the show. The album showcases the multiple award-winning ballads which are at the heart of the Musical’s score.
The sensational Lucy Thomas sings the title role with a series of magnificent solos, including “Starlight”, “Suddenly” and “Broken Dreams”. Lucy is joined by rising West End star Will Callan for two beautiful duets, “Above The Clouds” and “Hold On” and the hugely talented Desmonda Cathabel who sings the wonderful “I Still Believe in Love”.
The album also includes exhilarating ensemble numbers sung by the brilliant Kantos Chamber Choir and St. Bede’s Catholic High School Chamber Choir. With its collection of outstanding recordings this Studio Cast Album looks set to become a much-loved classic.
